Hall of Monuments Thoughts
First the tapestry... OK I get it its a questing PvE expansion so yea I expected quests to get stuff.. no problem... However alot of people will be wanting to see what things do fast...
So here is my first one.
I used it on the Miniature monument to see it first, and was slightly disappointed in that the miniatures are customized to the character NOT the account. I knew they would be customized, but I really was under the impression it would be a place to STORE my miniatures and then have access to them on my account from there. Now they are only good on 1 character and 1 character alone and I STILL have to tote them around in storage someplace... I was really hoping to be able to be similar to the Festive masks in that I could just trash them at long last and be able to get the non-tradable mini later in some way on my account when I want to use them.
But No at this moment that is not possible. Indeed if you put all your pets in the monument you still have to carry around the mini on your person or in storage and No other character on your account will ever be able to use them again... So consider this Early warning... I did all 8 of mine and I'm kinda miffed, but not too much really. I'm hoping anet may tweak it yet to work as expected...
So Plea to Anet. Please make this similar to festive hats in that hey can be used across your account but are locked on your main character for GW2. thank you...

The hero monument is a bit bleh. The animal companion isn't a personalised one, and you must have unlocked new armour for your heroes before you can put them in there

Seems there a lot of changes they could make to the HoM to make it more user friendly, its currently form doesn't seem so good.

I havnt play it yet, still at work. But from what I've been reading so far, people seem to be disappointed with HOM for the rigth reasons. No wonder really, Anet need to look into this real fast. I predict a riot, soon.

The Hall of Monuments fixes mini-pets to your specific characters so others can't use them?
... That... is truly messed up.
And Heroes Unlocked are only included once extra armour is added to them?
What the heck is with that? I happen to LIKE some of the characters (e.g. Olias) being in their default armour!
I can just tell I'm not going to like this.

Thanks for the heads-up. I was about to unlock the mini monument - glad I didn't! I keep my minis in storage for all my characters to use in outposts, so I never want to be locking them to just one.
Have to say I didn't expect too much of a thrill from HoM, but I did expect to use it! The pet thing and hero armour req means I probably won't touch it (I've never unlocked a hero armour, as the challenge missions bore me).
Oh, well.

I think "ALL" of the display are bogus. None of them benefit us a single bit at this moment, and what would tell what can it do for us in the future? Don't expect customer to see the future.
Probably will just ignore HoM until GW2 or something as it currently stand.
(when I display armor, it doesn't display "MY" armor... it just display some random armor crafted from that area)

Honestly, this entire Hall of Monuments thing is an absolute JOKE.
Spending time getting mini pets to have them customized to one char is rediculous.
Rank 12 Hero to display the title? Yeah, uhh, with the state that HA is in at the moment, good luck with that one.
Buying all the armor to display just to have it not even be your profession let alone not even your GENDER?
WTF ANET?

One thing I woud like to see is NOT needing max titles to show something off, I mean lets face it, how many people are likly going to get max for most of the PVP titles. Perhaps you can display at rank 1, but the title gets better with each rank, so you at least have something to show at rank 1.

Face it guys... we're Beta-Testing GW:EN.
If we complain and moan enough about things being horribly wrong with it.... it is quite likely that A-Net will do something to change it. No guarantee that it will be fixed... but things will definitely change before GW:EN official release.... and even then there will be many changes immediately after the release.
I forsee changes to the Hall of Monuments in particular.

The mini-pet thing makes sense, and it was pretty obvious they were going to do this, otherwise there would be nothing stopping you from trading them all between each other to fill up the hall.
The rest of it is pretty annoying though, especially the thing with the Heroes, I really hope they change that.

The mini-pet thing does indeed make sense, but it should be customized to an account, not a character.

Yeah. I don't see what the big deal is. You could basically have an entire guild just rotate one bone dragon for everyone to "unlock" it.
It would be dumb if the pet's *didn't* get customized. It wouldn't mean anything what you had in your HoH then, apart from that you borrowed a bunch of pets.
Having them customized to your account would be nice, this is just in response to those who feel they should be able to sell their pets after putting them in the HoH.

I agree on the pet issue, by all means customise them but make it account based not character based. I used some of my common ones, I'm glad I didn't use my rare ones on that character because if they are not going to be account based I'll save them for my legendary defender of ascalon character.
